Because it’s softer than black and easier to wear than orange, pink or green make-up, blue (in all its variations) catches our eye. Focus on this shade that will make the summer season.
How to wear blue makeup?
We start by choosing a shade that throws! Royal blue, cobalt or even electric… We prefer it in a more punchy and dynamic shade than its cousin, navy blue. These bright shades are ideal for sunny days and can be worn on the nails, eyelids and all the way to the end of the eyelashes.
In eyeshadow like on the Marc By Marc Jacobs fashion show
To electrify her make-up, we put on royal blue eyeshadow. First, apply an eye shadow base to smooth the skin and make the pigments adhere, then apply a metallic powder or cream shadow. We draw it in a halo and until the birth of the eyebrow arch. Be careful, this make-up is enough on its own: the complexion, the eyelashes and the mouth are nude and the eyebrows are well brushed.
In eyeliner like on the Kenzo fashion show
At Kenzo, blue is worn indigo and as a duo, both on the nails and on the eyes. We prepare the eyelid with a flesh-colored eyeshadow base, to unify and powder the skin, then we draw a wide comma in point. To finish the make-up, apply the mascara and draw a light line of brown pencil under the eye.
In liner under the eyes like on the Giles fashion show
To emphasize the look, you can opt for an anthracite gray and electric blue duo. On the mobile eyelid, apply a gray make-up with a powdery texture. To open the eyes, blend the make-up in the hollow, until the birth of the arch. Then, highlight the eye with a greasy kohl or electric blue liquid and apply a colored mascara in the same tones to the lower lashes. Finally, the complexion is mattified and the mouth is slightly glossed.
In fine kohl like on the Versace show
If you want a more discreet make-up, take inspiration from the Versace fashion show and combine blue with a metallic color. Start by applying a creamy coppery eyeshadow with a brush to the entire mobile eyelid and under the eyes. We then highlight the look with a thin line of black kohl around the eye. Then we draw a line of blue starting from the corner of the eye, up to half of the eyelid. Once again we focus on the eyes and opt for a nude mouth.
In smoky eyes like on the Jean Paul Gaultier Couture fashion show
In a more dressy version, the electric blue smoky eyes can also have an effect. The eyes are highlighted with iridescent make-up and false butterfly eyelashes. We apply the blue on the mobile eyelid by contouring the eye, then we apply the indigo under the outside of the eye which deepens the look. As for the mouth, we opt for a matte red, if we dare to mix colors.

We wear blue make-up… Arty version, by Brigitte Hymans, studio make-up artist:
“Using a brush, apply a flat, greasy shadow all over the mobile eyelid. Intensify the look with a thin line of black liner along the lashes and apply a good dose of black mascara above and below. »
We wear blue make-up… Soft version by Miky, Lancôme make-up artist:
« Highlight the look with a line of matte shadow under the lower lash line, lightly blur with a cotton swab. Stay sober on the rest of the face: a nude shadow on the mobile eyelid, bare but curved eyelashes, a finger-tinted mouth with peach pink or tea pink. »
